Catering to Cargo Imports and Exports, Manufacturing Industry and EC-related Demand in the Chubu Region - SENKO opens Wangan Yatomi PD Center next to Port of Nagoya, advancing decarbonization with first the use of solar-powered road panels -

SENKO Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Kenji Sugimoto; "SENKO") opened the "Wangan Yatomi PD Center (located in Yatomi City, Aichi Prefecture; "new center")" on April 6.

Appearance of the Wangan Yatomi PD Center

The new center is near "Wangan-Yatomi IC" and "Yatomi-Kisosaki IC" on the Isewangan Expressway and is designed to cater to increased demand at major ports in Aichi Prefecture, with excellent access located 8 km or approximately 10 minutes from the Port of Nagoya that is being developed with enhanced capabilities. As a general-purpose logistics center, it will be able to provide a full range of logistics services, from customs clearance of cargo imports and exports to storage and transportation.
The highly convenient new center not only caters to cargo exports and import and EC-related demand, but also facilitates efficient operations for existing customers in the residential housing and automotive parts sectors, and can be used as a site in the bay area for importing apparel products, with the aim of further expanding business in the Chubu region. The new center was also constructed with "Green Bonds" allocated as bonds as the source of funds required for green projects issued by SENKO Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Yasuhisa Fukuda; "SENKO GHD") in September 2020.

It is also the first logistics center of the SENKO GHD featuring the installation of "Solar Mobiway" solar-powered road panels developed by MIRAI-LABO Co., Ltd. (Head office: Hachioji, Tokyo; President: Toshio Hiratsuka; "MIRAI-LABO") with which SENKO GHD has entered a capital and business partnership, "EV repurposed batteries" using discarded EV batteries, and  the "G-CROSS" refillable battery charging system. Solar-powered road panels in particular are easier to install afterwards for parking spaces and other areas at existing sites compared to rooftop panels, and a number of demonstration tests and improvements were made with MIRAI-LABO with the view to installation throughout the Group, as a way of contributing to the development of a carbon-free society.
