SENKO History
A century has passed since the founding of Tomita Shokai,
the forerunner of Senko, in 1916.
We will introduce Senko's history of more than 100 years,
during which it has always led the way in innovation and facing challenges.
1916~1946
Founding of Tomita Shokai
1916
Founding of Tomita Shokai, the forerunner of Senko
Tomita Shokai, the forerunner of Senko, was established as an exclusive logistics company for the major chemical manufacturer Nicchitsu Konzern (zaibatsu).
1941
From Tomita Shokai to Nicchitsu Unyu
Tomita Shokai became Nicchitsu Unyu, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nicchitsu Konzern and served as its logistics department.
1946
Dissolution of Nicchitsu Unyu
The company was dissolved due to the breakup of the zaibatsu following Japan's loss in World War II.

Renaissance of the Fan
1946
Foundation of Senko Transport
Nicchitsu Unyu was dissolved in 1946 due to the postwar policy of zaibatsu dissolution. In the same year, Senko Transport was established by volunteers. The company name Senko was made up of the characters sen, for the folding fan that was the symbol of Nicchitsu Konzern, and ko, meaning renaissance.
1950
Development and expansion of logistics infrastructure
We handled the transportation of restoration materials, coal for energy, and materials for hydroelectric power plants constructed throughout Kyushu.
1954
Start of route truck business between Osaka and Nagoya
Beginning with a route truck business connecting Osaka and Nagoya, we established a nationwide network.
1959~1973
Moving into the Warehousing Business

Warehousing license acquired
Starting in Osaka, we developed warehouse locations throughout the country to respond to customers with growing shipments.
1965
Introduction of computers
We introduced computers ahead of our competitors.
We implemented online services like warehouse inventory management and fare calculation with our customers, and began efforts to make logistics accurate, speedy, and low-cost.
1970
Start of logistics consulting
Starting in Osaka, we developed warehouse locations throughout the country to respond to customers with growing shipments.
1973
Start of training of logistics system engineers
We started a consulting business that proposes high-value-added logistics to customers.
1973~1985
Spelling of "Senko" Changed to Katakana
1973
Introduction of CI
With the determination to move into businesses beyond logistics, we took the word "transport" out of the company's name and changed the spelling of "Senko" to katakana.e
1978
Full-scale entry into the house moving business
1983
Nationwide expansion of PD centers
We began the nationwide expansion of PD centers, providing multiple functions in addition to storage, such as shipping, distribution processing, and logistics information processing.
1984
Entry into the air cargo transportation business
1985
Entrusted with logistics operations for home centers
We handled logistics for various customers in the distribution industry, such as supermarkets and drugstores.
1990~2022
Implementation of Optimal Logistics Solutions

Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
1996
Establishment of Crefeel Koto
"We established Crefeel Koto (Higashiomi City, Shiga) for logistics and traffic safety training in order to pass on and develop Senko's techniques.
1998
Acquisition of certificate of conformity to ISM, the international standard for ship safety management systems
2011
Received the 12th Logistics Environment Award
We received the 12th Logistics Environment Award from the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport for our efforts to reduce power consumption.
2017
Converted to a holding company on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our founding
The company name was changed to Senko Group Holdings Co., Ltd.
The newly established Senko Co., Ltd. started business as a core company in the logistics industry.
Expansion of marine shipping business
Nippon Marine Co., Ltd. and Eikichi Kaiun Co., Ltd. joined the group.
Full-scale entry into the international airfreight business
Skylift Consolidator (Pte) Ltd joined the group.
2018
Establishment of our first logistics center in Vietnam
The Pho Noi Logistics Center was opened in Vietnam.
The group's most advanced logistics site is completed
Kazo PD Center Warehouse No. 2 was opened.
Received the 19th Logistics Environment Award from the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport
The project to carry out a modal shift through railway use received acclaim.
Enhancement of refrigerated and frozen logistics in China
The Beijing Logistics Center began operations.
2019
Expansion of overseas food logistics
The M-Senko Logistics Center was opened in Thailand.
2020
Start of new service for long-distance trunk transport
The Logistics Bus service started full-scale operations.
2021
3PL business expanded in ASEAN countries and Oceania
AirRoad Pty Ltd joined the group.
Progress in manpower reductions and decarbonization in long-distance transport
The "A-Double Truck" departure ceremony was held.
Start of leasing of logistics facilities to the group and self-consignment of electric power
We completed construction of the Sennan PD Center, a large-scale logistics facility.
The solar energy generated here is also used at other group sites.
2022
Fashion Sustainable Platform launched, with a goal of zero-waste fashion products
Zero Brands Inc. was established.
