SENKO Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Kenji Sugimoto; "SENKO") has created new environmentally friendly uniforms designed for greater functionality and safety, and will roll them out to all employees from October 2.
Background
Customers and suppliers are familiar with the current uniform as it has been used for many years and served to boost the company's brand recognition, but there were calls internally to make improvements to the design and other features to suit the times. As such, the uniform was updated for the first time in around 30 years into a comfortable design for both men and women.
Employees were asked to complete a questionnaire regarding the updated uniforms, and the company partnered with Asahi Kasei Advance Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masanori Yagami) and Onward Corporate Design Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akira Murakami) to repeatedly examine the requirements, functionality, safety and other factors of the uniforms. The design and materials were also applied to update the uniform from a range of different perspectives. The aim of the new uniform is to improve comfort and motivation for the employees wearing them, and to further boost the corporate branding.
Features
(1) Safety
A high-durability and snag-free design has been used to ensure safety during work, with the breathable design also helping to reduce the risk of heatstroke. The use of retroreflective material also enhances visibility.
(2) Functionality
Polo shirts are made of the comfortable Pure Claire®* material for enhanced sweat-absorption, quick-drying and stretchability. The blouse jackets feature chest pockets and pants have cargo pockets for added storage capacity. The blouse jackets are made with armpit deodorizing tape.
(3) Design
The red and green corporate colors have been added to an overall monotone base, producing an active and stylish image suitable for men and women of all ages.
Environmentally friendly
The blouse jacket and pants are made of recycled polyester derived from used PET bottles. All old uniforms will also be collected and utilized as recycled material.
* Pure Claire®: recycled cellulose fibers derived from cotton. This material releases moisture as if it were actually breathing, keeping wearers comfortable with superior humidity control.
