Medium-class, flat-body EV truck in use
Many trucks are operating on a daily basis transporting materials to construction sites throughout the housing industry, and with the reduction of CO2 emissions during transportation viewed as a social challenge, there is growing need for the contracting customers to also reduce CO2 emissions. The SENKO Ibaraki Branch operates around 400 trucks per day to transport housing materials to Sekisui House. To achieve this, SENKO partnered with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (Head office: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Karl Deppen) to jointly produce a medium-class, flat-body EV truck to operate on frequently used routes.
Two of these EV trucks will be delivered to the Ibaraki Truck Center, and will begin operating from September 5. SENKO is planning to roll out two of the same type of EV trucks within fiscal 2023, and will also increase the number of EV trucks in operation moving forward.
